COLLISION CRASH COURSE
  1. Stop your car and get to safety.
  2. Get help for any injured persons and call the police.
  3. Get the names and addresses of any witnesses. If necessary get license numbers of witnesses.
  4. Provide to the other party: your name, address, insurance company and policy number. It may be best to provide this via the police officer.
  5. Do not discuss fault with the other driver. Do not admit fault, it may be used against you.
  6. Get the names, addresses and phone numbers of all persons involved in the accident including the police officers name and badge number and phone number.
  7. As soon as possible write a detailed account of how the accident happened. Draw diagrams of the positions of the cars before, during and after the collision. Locate and identify any landmarks or any features which may have played a role in the accident.
